This year again Artistar Jewels represented the beauty and the originality in a totally new location: Homi Fiera Milano. The language of the contemporary jewel changes year after year and Artistar Jewels shared its new expressive features through an exhibition collecting jewellery designers and artists coming from all over the world. Numbers speak for themselves and highlight a great success: 81.450 visitors came to the fair and among them there were several internationals.

The winners of the Artistar Contest 2016 were awarded during this event. All the participants to the project took part in this competition. The totally new aspect of the contest is the voting modality: not a jury of selected experts in the sector but the web users. All of them could register in the web page Artistarjewels.com and express their own preference. Three candidates were chosen by the public as winners: with the ring Desitini, Artisticalmente di Leonardi Emanuele, Roman goldsmith with a very conceptual design, Artefatto, goldsmiths brand from Lecce characterized by a high quality and innovative craftsmanship that was awarderd thanks to the ring Melograno – Il Mito di Persefone, and Angela Malhues Torres, artist deeply influenced by the woman’s role in the Mapuche culture, the pubblic chose her necklace Healing.

The Homi exhibition’s protagonists are the different shades of the contemporary jewel: design creations, innovative craftsmanship and jewels/sculptures characterized by very artistic features. A very captivating setting up increased the value of the exhibited pieces by charming the observer with very innovative and original supporting structures. Not painting canvas but precious wonders were framed and hung to the walls as if they were paintings to be admired. The gold, the precious stones and the silver shone in the display cabinets by taking the forms of bracelets, neckpieces, rings and earrings characterized by a linear design or by more articulated shapes. It was also created a more interactive section in which the necklaces hung from a rope enhancing the relationships between the observer and the exhibited object.

The event also hosted the official launch of the book Artistar Jewels 2016 with the participation of Enzo Carbone (Artistar Jewels founder), Eugenia Gadaleta, fashion communication and writer for Vogue Gioiello, Klimt02 and Gloria Tonini, editor of the famous magazine Collezioni published by Logos Publishing. These journalists made the event even more special by underlining how the project Artistar Jewels satisfies the increasing demands to communicate and promote the always evolving jewellery sector. And now we are curious to meet the new protagonists of the next editions project.

Anche quest’anno Artistar Jewels ha saputo raccontare la bellezza e l’originalità in una location del tutto inedita, Homi Fiera Milano. Il linguaggio del gioiello contemporaneo di anno in anno utilizza nuove forme d’espressione e Artistar Jewels ha voluto condividerle attraverso l’esposizione che organizza ormai da tre anni e che raccoglie una selezione di artisti e designer di gioiello provenienti da ogni parte del mondo. I numeri parlano chiaro e segnalano un grande successo: 81.450 sono i visitatori che hanno preso parte alla fiera, e tra questi molti gli internazionali.

Durante questa manifestazione sono stati premiati i vincitori del contest Artistar Jewels 2016 che ha visto competere tutti i partecipanti al progetto. Assoluta novità all’interno del contest è la modalità di votazione: non una giuria di selezionati esperti del settore ma il web. Tutti potevano registrarsi gratuitamente all’interno della pagina Artistarjewels.com ed esprimere la propria preferenza. Proprio gli utenti della pagina hanno premiato tre candidati: Artisticalmente di Leonardi Emanuele, orafo romano dai gioielli fortemente concettuali, ha vinto grazie all’anello Destini; Artefatto, brand leccese è stato premiato grazie all’anello Melograno –il mito di Persefone, e infine, con la collana Healing, Angela Malhues Torres, artista il cui lavoro è fortemente legato al ruolo della donna nella cultura mapuche.

Diverse sono le sfumature del gioiello contemporaneo protagoniste della mostra ad Homi: realizzazioni di design, artigianato di ricerca e gioielli/scultura dai tratti fortemente artistici. Un allestimento d’effetto ha saputo valorizzare gli oggetti esposti, incuriosendo l’osservatore attraverso supporti alternativi ed originali. Non una tela ma meraviglie preziose sono state incorniciate e appese alle pareti come fossero veri e propri quadri da ammirare. L’oro, l’argento e le pietre preziose invece luccicavano all’interno delle teche prendendo le forme di bracciali, collane, orecchini e anelli dal design pulito e lineare fino a rappresentare motivi più complicati e ricchi. In una sezione più divertente le collane pendevano da una fune, facilitando così  l’interazione tra l’osservatore e l’oggetto proposto.

L’evento è stato teatro della presentazione del libro Artistar Jewels 2016, che ha visto il contributo di Enzo Carbone (fondatore di Artistar Jewels), Eugenia Gadaleta fashion communication e writer per Vogue Gioiello e Klimt02 e di Gloria Tonini, redattrice dell’autorevole rivista Collezioni della casa editrice Logos Publishing. Queste giornaliste hanno reso l’incontro ancora più speciale sottolineando come il progetto Artistar Jewels soddisfi le esigenze crescenti di comunicare e promuovere il settore del gioiello sempre in evoluzione. E adesso staremo a vedere quali saranno i protagonisti delle prossime edizioni di Artistar Jewels.
