On Sunday 22nd April one of the most awaited and engaging weeks of the city of Milan ended. Many events have animated the city, promoting their excellence in the districts located throughout the metropolis. Undoubtedly Din – Design In stands out, an event organized by Promotedesign.it for the sixth consecutive year in the underground setting of the Lambrate Design District. Many visitors have admired, photographed and appreciated the exhibited works, contributing to the success of this edition.

130 exhibitors this year have animated the hangar in Via Massimiano 6 / Via Sbodio 9, of which 20% are Italian and 80% from all over the world. Designers, companies, design academies and international organizations have exhibited their products and projects. The products range from light design to furnishings, up to the accessories for the kitchen and home furnishing accessories. However, the space dedicated to innovation could not be missing, with experimental projects of schools and design organizations.

The wide exhibition area for products coming from important design universities, such as NID, New Institute of Design, Paula Chacartegui, student presented by IED BARCELONA, Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague and Academie Artemis of Amsterdam. Six students of the Artmis Academy have provided visitors with a visual interpretation of great impact, investigating the most important developments in society and showing how these can take shape in innovative solutions. Yeelen Tavilla, Stephanie Morianner, Hannah Braeken, Sandra Benningen, Angelique Kuijpers and Willie Janmaat presented their personal opinions on what is relevant to the future of interior design, fashion, media and society as a whole.

Acoustic Caves, a project presented by the Czech Academy, which aims to explore and test architectural limits. Five exhibited works questioning the possible interpretations of the building, of the space and of the architecture, through seven differentiated examples that change according to the architectural typologies and the current methods of computational design.

NID, Nuovo Instituto di Design in Perugia, proposes two different projects. CLAYSTATION, where the Umbrian ceramic tradition becomes experimentation through an installation that comes from a transversal study on the potentialities of terracotta and a deepening of the relationship between form and sound, and WASTED Rebel Object, a project that collects items of objects intolerant to their alienated and anonymous condition.

The projects presented in collaboration with the European Union have attracted great interest: on the one hand, the LUMENTILE concept, born from a research project of the European Commission H2020, whose aim is to develop a bright and intelligent tile that, inspired by the classic ceramic tile, is enriched with electronics that allows new features. On the other hand, BaltSe@nior, which with a 3D Age Simulator allows visitors to feel the limits of an elderly body and therefore develop an empathy and a better understanding of the elderly users. The aim of the project is to offer the user the most emphatic vision possible in the world of the elderly and consequently facilitate the process of inclusive design, having in mind that the instrument had to be as simple, economical and usable as possible.

Important is also the space dedicated to international design organizations, who have exhibited their excellence at the Lambrate Design District. Czech Design Week presented the products of the three most talented designers selected from the week of Czech design: 440 AUDIO, Dominika Petrtylova and Kristyna Mikolaskova. It also shows its excellences KPD, a Russian designer collective that offers innovative and international crafts products, starting from their symbol, the image of Nevalyashka.

The Temporary Shop set up by Be Different was also very successful, where Artistarjewels.com, an annual project of international contemporary jewelery, exhibited creative pieces of contemporary jewelery created by designers and artists from all over the world.

Perfect the recreational setting of WEating 2018, foodtruck festival in the internal garden of Din – Design In, with its studied selection of Food Truck in a dedicated space and set up like a real event inside the event.

The Milan Design Week 2018 ended on Sunday April 22nd. It is an appointment among the most engaging for the city of Milan. This year many new design districts have been inaugurated and located in every corner of the metropolis. The events proposed to visitors increase exponentially every year, launching a huge challenge to the organizers of the Milan. The Lambrate Design District has distinguished itself in this Fuorisalone 2018, attracting many visitors, especially journalists and experts of this field, presenting events and quality products.

More than 13 thousand square meters of the 14 locations in the district, for a total of 300 exhibitors including 130 companies, 115 designers, 45 artists and 10 design academies. The Lambrate Design District, located in the suburbs north-east of Milan, wanted to make its non-central position its strenght: all visitors and enthusiasts have reached the locations between Via Massimiano and Via Ventura because they are really interested in the projects on display.

To Prodes Italia Fuorisalone 2018 represents the year zero, as for the first time the company managed the communication of the entire district. “It was not an easy challenge – explains Enzo Carbone, Prodes Italia’s administrator – because the work done so far by the previous organization was excellent. To us this Fuorisalone has been a great achievement, we have attracted the interest of many experts in the sector, presenting events and quality products, and we are already working for the 2019 edition to acquire more and more locations and exhibitors.”

The central theme of the district was certainly the innovative italian and international design products presented by the group exhibitions of Din – Design In 2018 organized for the sixth consecutive year by Promotedesign.it, Spazio Donno with DesignCircus by Stefano Epis and Fuorisalmone by Emanuele Pezzotta. Two projects were awarded in the Lambrate Design District: Rootpecker’s wooden caps by Sebastian Stumpel, who won the Reddot Award 2018, together with Progetto99 by Niccolò Garbati presented in SpazioDonno Design Circus, who with his wireless technologies combined with marble is among the selected designers of the Young & Design Award 2018.

Interesting is the selection of technological objects from the Smart Home world presented in Spazio Donno by Design Circus, which demonstrate how to easily make the various home appliances dialogue and manage the security of the apartment with just a few clicks. Fuorisalmone, in its lofts in Via Massimiano 25, presents to the public the products of Geomag, Libroom, Elena Valenti and La Chaise Folle. Surprising is Manta, the pool designed by Botany Bay, made of structural fabric that, instead of letting the water slide, collects it allowing bathing. The structure consists of the external sheet, stainless steel fasteners, the supporting frame and the floating wooden floor. What distinguishes Manta is the versatility and ease of assembly.

Also present is STUDIO CR34 with the Intro event, which is the first exhibition of furnishing accessories designed by StudioCR34 and produced by two emerging artisan companies. These elements represent not a style but a design method adapted to two materials, glass and wood. The realizations are presented in two areas of the office, adapted to the exhibition environment. Studio CR34, located in via Conte Rosso 34, already boasts many international collaborations with world-renowned architects. The protagonists of the event are Roberto Di Stefano, Alessandro Bongiorni and Ettore Vincentelli.

The Lambrate Design District has also focused its attention on the Contract world this year, thanks to the two hugely successful events organized by architect Simone Micheli in the neighborhood. Micheli gave life to two exhibitions: Hotel Regeneration at the Officina Ventura 14 and The precious apartment in Puntaldìa at Simone Micheli studio – gallery.

Hotel Regeneration has been confirmed as the largest event-agora until now realized for the Milanese events in the contract field, in collaboration with Tourism Investment, PKF hotelexperts & AboutHotel, presenting to the visitor many split of rooms dedicated to hospitality. Each section, signed for the occasion by the architect and made up of tailor-made products, is dedicated to a different hotel chain with the aim of making concrete the mix between the desires and the real satisfaction of the needs of the customers. Visitors and industry experts have become active participants in discussions of significant value and high interest during the Hospitality & Design Forum – a dynamic container for conferences, networking, panel discussions, presentations and exhibitions dedicated to developers, hoteliers, hotel groups, companies , architects, interior designers and real estate consultants.

The precious apartment in Puntaldìa under the patronage of ImmobilSarda, is an ethical and intelligent project, which has recounted a new way of imagining architecture aimed at redefining the concept of luxury in accordance with the evolution of the needs of today’s man and the fluidity of contemporary living space; a virtual exhibition that during the Fuorisalone showed the visitor the interior of the apartment designed by Simone Micheli and at the same time a permanent, concrete and active show-room where every guest can touch the excellence of the products made and supplied by the companies.

The Lambrate district has also embraced the art world this year, giving space to two dedicated events in the sector. “The Wunderkammer of Michele Vitaloni” at KKM has proposed an important selection of works by the internationally renowned sculptor, presenting for the occasion his new hyper-realistic creations related to the animal world and a new design line created by the artist himself and inspired always to naturalistic subjects. This exhibition is a fusion of Art and Design, which become a single subject linked to the wild world with the processing of different materials that narrate an exclusive way of living the living world. The paintings by Claudio Verganti and the design by Sergio Linzi also took part in the event.

At Spazio Lambrate Silencio went on stage, an artistic performance by Andrea Vescovi and Stefano Baldini curated by Tommaso Vergano. Silencio is a project without a project, art without music, music without art: only a show in the purest and simplest state. He wants to tell the current society of the show through an audio-visual performance, criticizing the spectacle and the excessive accumulation of stimuli.

The artisan design then became a space between the events of the district, landing at REDROOM, the living room of the handmade Lambrate. For the 2018 Fuorisalone focus on self-produced design with natural and alternative materials: an exhibition created ad hoc in collaboration with the designer of Pig’Oh ideemateriali, which on Friday 20 moved his workshop to Lambrate for a day.

On Thursday 19 April at 4.30 pm in the Lambrate Lighting District, D & R – Design & Retail took place, a meeting on new solutions for Retail, today stimuli and indispensable tools for lighting designers who are attentive to the “customer experience”. The new technologies, from the IOT (Internet of Things) to the Li.Fi (Light – WiFi), allow to create more and more emotional designs that through controlled and interconnected applications, are able to tame and shape the light for the creation of atmospheres unique. Marco Frascarolo – (Lighting Designer – Professor of Architecture Department – Uni Roma Tre – AIDI – Italian Lighting Association) and Walter Lutzu (Lighting Designer – Vice President AILD – Italian Lighting Association) will take part in the meeting.

However, the district wanted to offer its visitors space to interact, an exchange of ideas and synergies between employees in the sector.

For this purpose SHARED HOUSE was born: CO-DIVIDUAL Architecture, conceived as a space off of the Milan Triennale within the exhibition organized by Stefano Mirti entitled “999 questions on contemporary living” in progress from 12 January to 6 April 2018. If the twentieth century celebrated in-dividualism, we believe that the twenty-first century will be the century of co-dividualism, or the rediscovery of community bonds, spaces for being together, places to weave new possibilities for meeting. The interest is born to try out a new housing typology: the shared house, that is a house with common spaces conceived as a result of warm and simple, funny and contemporary design reflections where people who will use in a short and temporary way this house in addition to their room they have generous common spaces where they give life to a start-up, where they can cook together, where they can experiment with new ergonomics and uses of public space in the private space. In the space of Via Ventura, 3, in addition to experimenting with new practices of being together, it is expected to host debates, meetings, exhibitions of objects and photographs. SHARED HOUSE: CO-DIVIDUAL Architecture is the result of a collaboration between FARM CULTURAL PARK and its founder Andrea Bartoli, LAPS ARCHITECTURE by Salvator-John A. Liotta and Fabienne Louyot, A14HUB, POLITECNICO of MILAN for which the prof. Marco Imperadori.

In April Art&Bike was also inaugurated at Spazio Industriale, in its suggestive street-level structure that articulates interiors and exteriors perfectly accessible to people with mobility difficulties, the Spazio Industriale hosts for the Fuorisalone 2018 realities that combine design, fashion, passion cycling and eco-technologies for the bike. An important protagonist of this location was Zehus SpA, with its innovative design projects applied to the bike and the GilcoLab Art & Bike which, in addition to its display of unique pieces based on an original Gilco design, presented a new proposal for ultralight design tubes of furniture. Also installations by young designers.

Also linked to the world of bicycles is OFO, the world leader in fixed-bike-sharing founded in 2014 and based in Beijing, China. Present in the district with a dedicated station inside the Din – Design In shed, as the district of Lambrate will be part of the unmissable stages of the cycling persecution organized within the city.

The events were finally animated by author food trucks, designed specifically to offer visitors an increasingly complete experience. In particular WEating in the internal garden of Din – Design In, Just Streat Week – Street Food Experience at Ventura Garden and RE_Generation Food.

The enormous dynamism of these events has made the heart of the Lambrate Design District a pulsating and engaging one. Si è conclusa domenica 22 aprile la Milan Design Week 2018, un appuntamento tra più coinvolgenti per la città di Milano. Quest’anno sono stati moltissimi i nuovi distretti del design inaugurati e dislocati in ogni angolo della metropoli. Gli eventi proposti ai visitatori aumentano esponenzialmente ogni anno, lanciando un enorme sfida agli organizzatori delle realtà milanesi. Il Lambrate Design District ha saputo distinguersi in questo Fuorisalone 2018, attraendo molti visitatori, soprattutto giornalisti ed esperti del settore, presentando eventi e prodotti di qualità.

Più di 13 mila i metri quadri espositivi delle 14 location del distretto, per un totale di 300 espositori tra cui 130 aziende, 115 designers, 45 artisti e 10 accademie di design. Il Lambrate Design District, collocato nella periferia a nord-est di Milano, ha voluto fare della sua posizione non centrale il suo punto di forza: tutti i visitatori e appassionati hanno raggiunto le location tra Via Massimiano e Via Ventura poiché realmente interessati ai progetti esposti.

Per Prodes Italia il 2018 rappresenta l’anno zero, in quanto per il primo anno la società ha gestito la comunicazione di tutto il distretto. “Non è stata una sfida facile – spiega Enzo Carbone, amministratore di Prodes Italia – in quanto il lavoro svolto fino ad ora dalla precedente organizzazione è stato ottimo. Per noi questo Fuorisalone è stato un grande traguardo, abbiamo suscitato l’interesse di molti esperti del settore, presentando eventi e prodotti di qualità, e stiamo già lavorando per l’edizione 2019 per acquisire sempre più location ed espositori.”

Tema centrale del distretto è stato sicuramente il design innovativo, italiano e internazionale, presentato dalle esposizioni collettive di Din – Design In 2018 organizzato per il sesto anno consecutivo da Promotedesign.it, Spazio Donno con DesignCircus di Stefano Epis e Fuorisalmone di Emanuele Pezzotta. I prodotti presentati spaziano dal light design all’arredamento, fino ad arrivare agli accessori per la cucina e i complementi d’arredo per la casa. Non può mancare però lo spazio dedicato all’innovazione, con progetti sperimentali di scuole e organizzazioni di design.

Si distinguono tra questi NID, Nuovo Istituto di Design, Paula Chacartegui, studentessa presentata da IED BARCELLONA, Accademia Umprum delle arti, dell’architettura e del design di Praga e Academie Artemis di Amsterdam. Sei studenti dell’accademia Artemis hanno fornito ai visitatori un’interpretazione visiva di grande impatto, indagando i più importanti sviluppi della società e mostrando come questi possano concretizzarsi in soluzioni innovative. Di grande impatto
visivo Acoustic Caves, progetto presentato dall’accademia della Repubblica Ceca, che mira ad esplorare e testare i limiti architettonici. Cinque le opere esposte che si interrogano sulle possibili interpretazioni dell’edificio, dello spazio e dell’architettura, attraverso sette esempi differenziati che mutano in base alle tipologie architettoniche e ai metodi attuali di computational design.

NID, Nuovo Istituto di Design di Perugia, propone invece due progetti differenti. CLAYSTATION, dove la tradizione ceramica umbra diventa sperimentazione attraverso un’istallazione che nasce da uno studio trasversale sulle potenzialità della terracotta e da un approfondimento sul rapporto tra forma e suono, e WASTED Rebel Object, un progetto che raccoglie le voci di oggetti insofferenti alla loro condizione alienata ed anonima.

Due i progetti premiati nel Lambrate Design District: I caps in legno firmati Rootpecker di Sebastian Stumpel, che hanno vinto il Reddot Award2018, insieme a Progetto99 di Niccolò Garbati, che con le sue tecnologie wireless abbinate al marmo è tra i designer selezionati del Young&Design Award 2018.

Hanno suscitato grande interesse i progetti presentati in collaborazione con l’Unione Europea: da una parte il concept di LUMENTILE, nato da un progetto di ricerca della commissione europea H2020, la cui finalità è quella di sviluppare una piastrella luminosa e intelligente che, ispirandosi alla classica piastrella ceramica, viene arricchita con elettronica che permette nuove funzionalità. Dall’altra parte invece BaltSe@nior, che con un Age Simulator in 3D permette ai visitatori di sentire i limiti che prova un corpo anziano e quindi sviluppare un’empatia e una migliore comprensione degli utenti anziani. Lo scopo del progetto è quello di offrire all’utente la visione più enfatica possibile del mondo degli anziani e di conseguenza facilitare il processo di progettazione inclusiva, avendo in mente che lo strumento doveva essere il più semplice, economico e utilizzabile possibile.

Importante è lo spazio inoltre dedicato alle organizzazioni internazionali di design, che hanno esposto a Lambrate Design District le loro eccellenze. Czech Design Week ha presentato i prodotti dei tre designer più talentuosi selezionati dalla settimana del design ceca: 440 AUDIO, Dominika Petrtylova e Kristyna Mikolaskova. Propone le proprie eccellenze anche KPD, collettivo di designer russo che propone prodotti di artigianato innovativi e internazionali, a partire dal loro simbolo, l’immagine di Nevalyashka.

Interessante la selezione di oggetti tecnologici del mondo della Smart Home presentati in Spazio Donno da Design Circus, che dimostrano come far dialogare facilmente i vari elettrodomestici di casa e gestire la sicurezza dell’appartamento con pochi ‘click’. Fuorisalmone, nei suoi loft in Via Massimiano 25, presenta al pubblico i prodotti di Geomag, Libroom, Elena Valenti e La Chaise Folle. Sorprendente è Manta, la piscina ideata da Botany Bay, realizzata in telo strutturale che, al posto di far scivolare l’acqua, la raccoglie permettendo la balneazione. La struttura si compone del telo esterno, dei dispositivi di fissaggio in acciaio inox, del telaio portante e del pavimento flottante in legno. Quello che distingue Manta è la versatilità e la facilità del montaggio.

Presente anche STUDIO CR34 con l’evento Intro, che si prefigura come la prima esibizione di complementi d’arredo disegnati da StudioCR34 e prodotti da due aziende artigiane emergenti. Questi elementi rappresentano non uno stile ma un metodo progettuale adattato a due materiali, il vetro ed il legno. Le realizzazioni sono presentate in due aree dell’ufficio, adattato ad ambiente espositivo. Studio CR34, situato in via Conte Rosso 34, vanta già molte collaborazioni internazionali con architetti di fama mondiale. I designer protagonisti dell’evento sono Roberto Di Stefano, Alessandro Bongiorni e Ettore Vincentelli.

Il Lambrate Design District ha focalizzato quest’anno la sua attenzione anche al mondo del Contract, grazie ai due eventi di enorme successo organizzati dall’architetto Simone Micheli nel quartiere. Micheli darà vita a due mostre: Hotel Regeneration presso l’Officina Ventura 14 e The precious apartment in Puntaldìa presso Simone Micheli studio – gallery.

Hotel Regeneration si è confermato il più grande evento-agorà fino ad ora realizzato per la kermesse Milanese in ambito contract, in collaborazione con Tourism Investment, PKF hotelexperts & AboutHotel, presentando al visitatore plurimi spaccati di ambienti dedicati all’accoglienza. Ogni spaccato, firmato per l’occasione dall’architetto e composto da prodotti tailor-made, è dedicato ad una differente catena alberghiera con il fine di rendere concreta la commistione tra i desideri e la soddisfazione reale delle necessità dei clienti. Il visitatori e gli esperti del settore sono diventati parte attiva di dibattiti di rilevante valore ed elevato interesse durante l’Hospitality & Design Forum – contenitore dinamico di conferenze, networking, panel discussion, presentazioni ed esposizioni dedicate a sviluppatori, albergatori, gruppi alberghieri, aziende, architetti, interior designer e consulenti immobiliari.

The precious apartment in Puntaldìa con il patrocinio di ImmobilSarda, è un progetto etico ed intelligente, che ha raccontato un nuovo modo di immaginare l’architettura volto alla ridefinizione del concetto di lusso in accordo con l’evoluzione delle necessità dell’uomo di oggi e la fluidità dello spazio abitativo contemporaneo; una mostra virtuale che durante il Fuorisalone ha mostrato al visitatore l’interno dell’appartamento firmato da Simone Micheli e contemporaneamente uno show-room permanente, concreto ed attivo in cui ogni ospite potrà toccare con mano l’eccellenza dei prodotti realizzati e forniti dalle aziende.

Il distretto di Lambrate ha abbracciato quest’anno anche il mondo dell’arte, dando spazio a due eventi dedicati del settore. “The Wunderkammer of Michele Vitaloni” presso KKM, ha proposto un’importante selezione di opere dello scultore di fama internazionale, presentando per l’occasione le sue nuove creazioni iperrealistiche legate al mondo animale e una nuova linea di design creata dallo stesso artista ed ispirata sempre ai soggetti naturalistici. Questa mostra è una fusione tra Arte e Design, che diventano un unico soggetto legato al mondo selvaggio con lavorazioni di diversi materiali che raccontano un modo esclusivo di vivere il mondo abitativo. All’evento hanno partecipato anche le opere pittoriche di Claudio Verganti e il design di Sergio Linzi.

Presso Spazio Lambrate è andato invece in scena Silencio, una performance artistica di Andrea Vescovi e Stefano Baldini a cura di Tommaso Vergano. Silencio è un progetto senza progetto, arte senza musica, musica senza arte: solo spettacolo allo stato più puro e semplice. Vuole raccontare attraverso una performance audio-visiva l’attuale società dello spettacolo, criticandone la spettacolarità e l’eccessivo accumulo di stimoli.

Il design artigianale si è fatto poi spazio tra gli eventi del distretto approdando alla REDROOM, il salotto dell’ handmade di Lambrate. Per il Fuorisalone 2018 focus sul design autoprodotto con materiali naturali e alternativi: un allestimento creato ad hoc in collaborazione con il designer di Pig’Oh ideemateriali, che venerdì 20 ha trasportato il suo laboratorio a Lambrate per un giorno.

Giovedì 19 aprile alle 16:30 nella la sede del Lambrate Lighting District, si è svolta D&R – Design & Retail, un incontro sulle nuove soluzioni per il Retail, oggi stimoli e strumenti indispensabili per i lighting designer attenti alla “customer experience”. Le nuove tecnologie, dall’Iot (Internet of Things) al Li.Fi (Light – WiFi), permettono di creare design sempre più emozionali che attraverso applicazioni controllate e interconnesse, sono in grado di domare e plasmare la luce per la creazione di atmosfere uniche. All’incontro parteciperanno Marco Frascarolo – (Lighting Designer – Docente Dipartimento di Architettura – Uni Roma Tre – AIDI – Associazione Italiana di Illuminazione) e Walter Lutzu (Lighting Designer – Vice Presidente AILD – Associazione Italiana di Illuminazione).

Il quartiere ha voluto però offrire ai suoi visitatori degli spazi per poter interagire, uno scambio di idee e di sinergie tra addetti al settore.

A tal scopo è nato SHARED HOUSE: Architettura CO-DIVIDUALE, concepito come spazio off della Triennale di Milano in seno alla mostra organizzata da Stefano Mirti dal titolo “999 domande sull’abitare contemporaneo” in corso dal 12 gennaio al 6 aprile 2018. Se il XX secolo ha celebrato l’in-dividualismo, crediamo che il XXI secolo sarà il secolo del co-dividualismo, ovvero della riscoperta dei legami comunitari, di spazi per lo stare insieme, di luoghi dove tessere nuove possibilità di incontro. Nasce l’interesse per sperimentare una nuova tipologia abitativa: la shared house, ovvero una casa con spazi comuni pensati come risultato di riflessioni progettuali calorose e semplici, divertenti e contemporanee dove le persone che useranno in modo breve e temporaneo questa abitazione oltre alla loro stanza hanno degli spazi comuni generosi dove dare vita ad una start-up, dove cucinare insieme, dove sperimentare nuove ergonomie ed usi dello spazio pubblico nello spazio privato. Nello spazio di Via Ventura, 3, oltre a sperimentare nuove pratiche dello stare insieme si prevede di ospitare dibattiti, incontri, esposizioni di oggetti e fotografie. SHARED HOUSE: Architettura CO-DIVIDUALE è frutto di una collaborazione fra FARM CULTURAL PARK e del suo fondatore Andrea Bartoli, LAPS ARCHITECTURE di Salvator-John A. Liotta e Fabienne Louyot, A14HUB, POLITECNICO di MILANO per il quale interverrà il prof. Marco Imperadori.

Ad aprile è stato inoltre inaugurato Art&Bike allo Spazio Industriale, nella sua suggestiva struttura al piano della strada, che articola interni ed esterni perfettamente accessibili anche a persone con difficoltà motorie, lo Spazio Industriale ospita per il Fuorisalone 2018 realtà che coniugano design, moda, passione ciclistica ed eco-tecnologie per la bici. Importante protagonista di questa location è stata Zehus SpA, con i suoi progetti di design innovativo applicato alla bici e l’Art&Bike GilcoLab
che, oltre alla sua esposizione di pezzi unici su disegno originale Gilco, ha presentato una nuova proposta di tubi ultraleggeri per il design di arredamento. Inoltre installazioni di giovani designer.

Legato al mondo delle biciclette è anche OFO, leader mondiale del bike sharing senza stazioni fisse fondata nel 2014 e con sede a Pechino, in Cina. Presente nel distretto con una postazione dedicata all’interno del capannone Din – Design In, in quanto il distretto di Lambrate farà parte delle tappe imperdibili del perscorso ciclistico organizzato all’interno della città.

Gli eventi sono stati infine animati da food truck d’autore, studiati ad hoc per offrire ai visitatori un’esperienza sempre più completa. In particolare WEating nel giardino interno di Din – Design In, Just StrEat Week – Street Food Experience presso Giardino Ventura e RE_Generation Food.

L’enorme dinamicità di questi eventi hanno reso pulsante e coinvolgente il cuore del Lambrate Design District. I proprietari delle location, così come gli organizzatori dei singoli eventi, si sono impegnati al massimo per regalare al pubblico di visitatori un’esperienza unica, investendo molto nel quartiere, credendo nelle sue potenzialità non solo per il Fuorisalone, ma per tutto l’anno.

Domenica 22 aprile è terminata una delle settimane più attese e coinvolgenti della città di Milano. Moltissimi gli eventi che hanno colorato la città, promuovendo le proprie eccellenze nei distretti dislocati per tutta la metropoli. Tra questi spicca senza dubbio Din – Design In , evento organizzato da Promotedesign.it per il sesto anno consecutivo nella cornice underground del Lambrate Design District. Moltissimi i visitatori che hanno ammirato, fotografato e apprezzato le opere esposte, contribuendo al successo di questa edizione.

130 gli espositori che quest’anno hanno animato l’hangar in Via Massimiano 6 / Via Sbodio 9, di cui  il 20% italiani e l’80%  da tutto il mondo. Hanno esposto i loro prodotti e progetti designer, aziende, accademie di design e organizzazioni internazionali. I prodotti spaziano dal light design all’arredamento, fino ad arrivare agli accessori per la cucina e i complementi d’arredo per la casa. Non può mancare però lo spazio dedicato all’innovazione, con progetti sperimentali di scuole e organizzazioni di design.

Di enorme successo l’ampia area per l’esposizione di prodotti provenienti da importanti università di design, quali NID, Nuovo Istituto di Design, Paula Chacartegui, studentessa presentata da IED BARCELLONA, Accademia Umprum delle arti, dell’architettura e del design di Praga e Academie Artemis di Amsterdam. Sei studenti dell’accademia Artmis hanno fornito ai visitatori un’interpretazione visiva di grande impatto, indagando i più importanti sviluppi della società e mostrando come questi possano concretizzarsi in soluzioni innovative. Yeelen Tavilla, Stephanie Morianner, Hannah Braeken, Sandra Benningen, Angelique Kuijpers e Willie Janmaat hanno presentato le loro opinioni personali su ciò che è rilevante per il futuro dell’interior design, della moda, dei media e della società nel suo complesso.

Di grande impatto visivo Acoustic Caves, progetto presentato dall’accademia della Repubblica Ceca, che mira ad esplorare e testare i limiti architettonici. Cinque  le opere esposte che si interrogano sulle possibili interpretazioni dell’edificio, dello spazio e dell’architettura, attraverso sette esempi differenziati che mutano in base alle tipologie architettoniche e ai metodi attuali di computational design.

NID, Nuovo Instituto di Design di Perugia, propone invece due progetti differenti. CLAYSTATION,  dove la tradizione ceramica umbra diventa sperimentazione attraverso un’istallazione che nasce da uno studio trasversale sulle potenzialità della terracotta e da un approfondimento sul rapporto tra forma e suono, e WASTED Rebel Object, un progetto che raccoglie le voci di oggetti insofferenti alla loro condizione alienata ed anonima.

Hanno suscitato grande interesse i progetti presentati in collaborazione con l’Unione Europea: da una parte il concept di  LUMENTILE, nato da un progetto di ricerca della commissione europea H2020, la cui finalità è quella di sviluppare una piastrella luminosa e intelligente che, ispirandosi alla classica piastrella ceramica, viene arricchita con elettronica che permette nuove funzionalità. Dall’altra parte invece  BaltSe@nior, che con un Age Simulator in 3D permette ai visitatori di sentire i limiti che prova un corpo anziano e quindi sviluppare un’empatia e una migliore comprensione degli utenti anziani. Lo scopo del progetto è quello di offrire all’utente la visione più enfatica possibile del mondo degli anziani e di conseguenza facilitare il processo di progettazione inclusiva, avendo in mente che lo strumento doveva essere il più semplice, economico e utilizzabile possibile.

Importante è lo spazio inoltre dedicato alle organizzazioni internazionali di design, che hanno esposto a Lambrate Design District le loro eccellenze. Czech Design Week ha presentato i prodotti dei tre designer più talentuosi selezionati dalla settimana del design ceca: 440 AUDIO, Dominika Petrtylova e Kristyna Mikolaskova. Propone le proprie eccellenze anche KPD, collettivo di designer russo che propone prodotti di artigianato innovativi e internazionali, a partire dal loro simbolo, l’immagine di Nevalyashka.

Di grande successo anche il Temporary Shop allestito da Be Different, dove Artistarjewels.com, progetto annuale di gioiello contemporaneo internazionale, che ha esposto pezzi creativi di gioielleria contemporanea, creati da designer e artisti provenienti da tutto il mondo.

Perfetta la cornice ricreativa di  WEating 2018, foodtruck festival nel giardino interno di Din – Design In, con la sua selezione studiata di Food Truck in uno spazio dedicato e allestito come un vero e proprio evento dentro l’evento.
