LAMBRATE DESIGN DISTRICT IS WAITING FOR 2022 FOR AN EDITION FULL OF EVENTS AND NEW CONTENTS PAUSING THE 2021 EDITION BECAUSE OF THE PANDEMIC.

Milan, May 6th 2021 Lambrate Design District officially announces the postponement of the annual event with the world of design until 2022. After careful evaluation and given the current worldwide instability due to the health emergency, the next edition of the Lambrate Design District will reopen in 2022.

Despite the latest updates state that the Salone del Mobile will be held from 5 to 10 September 2021 in a lighter and more digital version, travelling to and from Italy would still be affected by many restrictions and the Italian Government will, until the end of 2021, apply rigid restrictions to events open to the public. Following these constraints, the Lambrate Design District chooses to turn off the spotlight on the next edition. Stop all events, exhibitions and appointments in the District. A new project organized by the Formidabile Lambrate association at the Scalo di Lambrate will be supported exclusively for this year.

During 2020 and 2021 Lambrate Design District coordinated the participatory design of the “Lambrate Park District” project for Co-Inventing, for the redevelopment of the Lambrate Railway Station. The promoters “C40”, “FS Sistemi Urbani” and the Municipality of Milan have selected this project among the four finalists. The tender provides for the recovery of over 60,000 square meters between the Ortica, Lambrate and Città Studi districts.

The interruption will allow to get a running start for a 2022 edition in full swing, guaranteeing not only to the realities already involved but also to all those who will join later, the visibility they deserve.

These careful evaluations led to the belief that, in order to assure prosperity and health to the District of Lambrate it will be necessary to wait until 2022, thus guaranteeing to all participants the incomparable event for which they invested energy and resources, in complete safety.

The schedule of Lambrate Design District 2022 will exceed all expectations confirming itself as a strong and iconic landmark of the Design Week that is expected to be full of events exceeding the numbers of the latest edition, that of 2019 which recorded 100,000 visitors and about 400 exhibitors protagonists of 25 different events. To remember, in particular, Din – Design In, collective exhibition organized by Promotedesign.it that in 2019 gave voice to the projects of more than 100 designers, companies and design schools, including the Masterstudio Design of the FHNW Academy of Art and Design in Basel, the Università degli studi G. d’Annunzio of Chieti-Pescara and the NID – Nuovo Istituto di Design di Perugia.

The Fuorisalone 2022 of Lambrate Design District is in the third management of Prodes Italia, a company active for years in the high jewelry, design and art sectors, which has contributed, edition by edition, the growth in the number of participants and events within the district strengthening the nature of cosmopolitan destination, young and attentive to trends.
